God's Character

In Galatians 5:22-23, Paul encourages us to nurture the fruit of the Spirit. Though he lists nine qualities, the word 'fruit' is single - like an orange, one fruit with many segments.

The important thing is to focus on the Spirit, and not become overly concerned over every divine attribute. Paul gives us a clear instruction,

 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

Whether you've memorized, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; or you're simply keeping your eyes on God throughout the day - deliberately, connect with God. Seek to discern His presence. Be conscious of the Spirit's leading, in your thoughts, 'coincidences', the Bible, 'chance encounters'. You might be surprised.

A Prayer

Lord, in a busy world, with many possible distractions, make me sensitive to Your guiding and calming Presence. Teach me, to keep in step with Your Spirit. Amen
